A small group of us took a night photography course on The Mansion House roof. Access was through the Mayor's bedroom window!
These small courses run twice a year and are well worth it for the view. I think this is the only occasion you can get up there.

Having visited lots of the other 'old house' attractions in York this was the last one during our trip and was the one that we probably enjoyed the most. staff not to sure of what they say the mansion house lord mayors home great big building in the court yard behind the guild hall plenty of steps should be free plenty of history though

For £5 my fiancé and I took a tour of the Mansion House in York. It was a Saturday afternoon but there were only a few people on the tour.
