This museum is really good for kids and ideal for school visits. I went with a school party and visited the Roman Fort site only. As we were walking to the fort it was obvious there was a wide range of activities and a range of animals to see. The actors that took the part of the Roman soldiers mesmorised... More

would def recommend the father christmas train ride at christams, for the kids, not expensive, but you get a train ride, meet the man himself, a gift for the kids, a tour around his village and meet the elves and mums and dads get a free sherry and mince pie. Happy days!!! More

We went to this museum during there Halloween Spooktacular day. The entry fee was reasonable and for an extra £1 my daughter got a pumpkin bigger than she was. All the staff where very friendly and thewitch and the witch finders costume was great. After the children had made pumpkin lanterns they were taken up to the witches house (a... More

Great collection of agricultural implements, one of the best we've seen. Two main buildings to look through and much improved since the last time we vistied a few years back (with my father who used to be a farmer). Was a nice day so happy to walk around the site but I'd take good outdoor wear if the weather is... More

Visited during school holidays and had the place to ourselves , cost £16 for 2 adults and 1 child. cafe and shop near entrance, many tractors and implements to see along with relics from the past when farming was a slower pace of life, various animals to see , and a viking village to look around, as we had been... We should have realised from the empty car park that this attraction is no longer popular, a sunny afternoon in the August summer holiday's and were the only visitors there ! The whole experience was a huge disappointment, the cafe was closed, there were only a few animals to see, many of machinery exibits were in a very rusty state... More

Visited this excellent attraction over the Easter break with our two primary aged children. Lots of space for them to run off steam and some very interesting exhibits in the two large barn/galleries. As we had planned ahead and chose to visit on one of the many special event days there was plenty happening (very important to do this as,... More

The website promises much more than it delivers. I took my family at 1/2 term to find the cafe was shut, the viking village was being re roofed, the roman fort was empty of any sign of life, the animals were very few and far between and a couple of broken down tractors for children to play on does not make for much... We we SO dissapointed with this day trip we planned with our 2 children. It cost £16 for family entry & we were only there 45 mins. Considering it was the Easter school holidays, I would have at least thought the cafe might have been open, however it wasn't & we were directed to a vending machine with extortinately priced...
