I visited the caves in April 2009, and although the caves themselves were fantastic, the tour was very disappointing. When we tried to go (twice) caves were closed because of high water levels (fair enough - it was a wet week). Not complaining about that, but the staff there were AWFUL. Having missed out the first time we phoned in advance, were told to come and then when we got there half an hour later the caves were closed... more
These caves are just fantastic. The guide we had was very good at explaining everything and pointing out all the weird little things that nature has created such as the stalagmite 'judges head' which has to been seen to be believed and the battlefield cavern at the end is worth the huffing and puffing up the 97 steps, also the... more
A fantastic place to visit and take your kids. Its a huge great long cave with one or two tight squeezes (for me anyway) and a lot of low roofs. The big chamber/ cavern at the end of the walk is a bit special; well worth the walk! I came here before with my children (about 5 years ago I... more
I have had 2 parties down these caves and all of my friends have loved it! They are great to go down if you have never done so before. They point out lots of weird and wonderful things like "Witche's Fingers" etc. A must see attraction. more
White Scar Cave is excellent! What else can I say - this is britain's longest show cave and is a good miles walk from start to finish with 98 steps on the way! You are on a infomative guided tour which lasts 80 minutes and provided with hard hats (once inside you can see why!) - BE WARNED it does... more
