We were staying at Simonstone, approximately 20 minutes away. We arrived in the car park about 10.50 and while we were getting our walking boots on a message over a tanoy informed us that the next tour was at 11am. It was more by luck than judgement that we had driven into the car park at that time as tours... More

Really good cave network. You learn about the history of the caves and some geology. Would be more fun without the scaffold walkways but understand it's more accessible for all with them there. You knock your head at least once. Not good for people with bad backs due to lots of walking with bent back due to very low ceilings.... More

The guided tour was very interesting and the guide was very friendly. I lost my telephone in the cave and thought \i would never see it again. However, the guides found it!! Thank you so much. More

Easy to find. Large car park and toilets close by. Wear a few layers of clothing, topped with something waterproof and sturdy footwear because it's cold, damp, slippery underfoot and there are a lot of splashes and drips en route. Tours are held for groups (there were about 12 people in our group) and individuals are fitted with a hard... More

Came here with my wife as an afternoon activity after a walk in the local area and was the highlight of my week. White scar caves has plenty of parking with regular tours entering the cave. The tour takes around 80 minutes and you have a guide who is very informative and has lots to say through out the tour.... More

I recommend you don your hard hat and pothole (walk) to the Battlefield Cave at White Scar, Ingatestone, Yorkshire. What a sight enormous size, largest underground cave open to the public and beautiful straw stalactites. There is a guide with you so no horrors and its a easy walk some 90 steps after walking in a passageway for 1/2 mile... More

I'd never been in a cave before so thought "Why not?". White Scar is really easy to find, lots of parking and with tours leaving on the hour if you time it right you aren't hanging around for ages (but if you are the view from the car park is just lovely). I had Jim (I think) for my tour... More
