Living in Sheffield we often go out to Longshaw to get away and unwind. There is everything from a gentle short walk followed by tea and a cake, or a more extensive days excursion. The views are always stunning and it is never the same twice. We love it!

National Trust woodland and walks. Gets busy at weekends from Easter through to October but an atmospheric and largely unspoiled stretch of country off-peak.

Sheffield was famously described by Wordsworth as a "dirty picture in a golden frame", and though the dirty picture is long gone the golden frame survives intact.
This part of Derbyshire just four miles from Sheffield and within the Peak Park, is part of that "golden frame" with wonderful views across the most delightful area of the UK.

We came across this site when we visited Rotherham
The House was not open to the Public but that didnt matter as it didnt look very appealimg to the eye.
The area surrounding was however quite astounding. The views were lovely and the paths were well marked out and it was pretty hard to get lost.
