This art is thought to date to about 13,000 years ago and provide a glimpse into the rich culture and fascinating life of our distant relatives. Over 100 years of archaeological work at the site has unearthed stone tools and remains of animals providing evidence for a fascinating story of life during the last Ice Age. « less

I have always heard of Creswell Crags (I don't really live that far away) and have always wanted to go, so on a whim, I did. The visitor's centre is very modern and the facilities were just wonderful. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and the coffee and cake we had there were what you would expect from a café... More

Creswell Crags is a hidden gem in the north of Nottinghamshire. After having coffee at the excellent Visitors Centre (the loos should win "Loo of the Year" they are so clean) take a short walk through the picnic area to the viewpoint up the lake. It is a such a delight at any time of year. The walk around the... More

I was concerned this would be too much for my arthritic knees, but it is lovely and flat and sheltered. The visitor centre is lovely with a small cafe with gorgeous sandwiches and cakes. The shop is great and the people who work there are a delight. A lovely place to visit. We will be going again; More

i didn't really know much about this place before I went, but it's definitely worth a visit if you're interested in history. The visitor centre is pretty new, with an exhibition of artifacts that's small but informative, and interesting to look around. The two cave tours are really fascinating, and the tour guides are really good at their job. The... More

My boyfriend treated me and my son to a guided tour round the caves - it was really interesting and my son enjoyed it. It was even better because it was through a groupon voucher. Its fun for kids to because you get to wear a helmet with a lamp on (I enjoyed this part too), you do have to... More

We went on a very cold frosty morning and found it a bit difficult to find the start of the walk - which is just through the visitors centre. The walk around the lake is about a mile and lovely to do. There are a few caves to look in, but we didn't do the full tour. More

We have been meaning to visit for several years and now having finally got there we wish we had made the effort sooner. 6 November was crisp and breezy but with lovely sunshine and the gorge was full of autumn colour. It was easy walking on good paths and lots of different leaves and pine cones for the kids to... More
