ive been visiting the market square since i was born, when i was younger it was beautiful with loads of fountains and plants and seating. now it has been 'modernised' its not the same. the area outside the city hall is horrendous and is like a death trap when its icy, hardly any seats anywhere and ione large (boring) fountain... crowded, dirty, no character apart from the council house itself. No seating, unless you count the stone walls where people tend to park themselves. And the worse NO loos. Nottingham should better than this. More

I think that a market square should have market stalls on it. The council does not take advantage of this at all. More

The people of Nottingham are very friendly. Good shopping. Market sometimes has themes - European Market, Seaside and skating at different times of the year. More

I'm Nottingham born and bred so I remember the "old" market sqare, which also had fountains ( mainly used for a dip by drunken youths at the weekend, but they were ornimental so no kiddies playing in them !.
