Once you have paid to enter the grounds are well maintained and quite pretty in the summer. The castle itself isn't much to write home about, at certain times of the year different displays are organised, the jousting is possibly one of the better ones. Other than that all you can do is walk round the grounds. More

It's a Georgian Mansion purorting to be a castle! It's surrounded by, possibly, genuine outer mediaeval walls; however - it shouldn't be called a castle when it obviously isn't one! More

There is not a lot of actual castle but the grounds are attractively planted and cared for. The Museum is very good. Interestingly set out. It is worth visiting the castle to get the view of Nottingham from there. The landmarks are shown on signs to make them identifiable from a distance. Value for money. More
