I have been to a few castles and was a bit disappointed with prices and assistance around the castle, but the views were stunning More

This is THE tourist attraction in Nottingham, so if you're spending time in Nottingham as a tourist this is what you should see. Check out the statue of Nottingham's most famous citizen, Robin Hood, outside the castle first. Two things are striking about the statue: it's quite small and quite strange. The views from the castle are impressive on a... More

Once you have paid to enter the grounds are well maintained and quite pretty in the summer. The castle itself isn't much to write home about, at certain times of the year different displays are organised, the jousting is possibly one of the better ones. Other than that all you can do is walk round the grounds. More

It's a Georgian Mansion purorting to be a castle! It's surrounded by, possibly, genuine outer mediaeval walls; however - it shouldn't be called a castle when it obviously isn't one! More

There is not a lot of actual castle but the grounds are attractively planted and cared for. The Museum is very good. Interestingly set out. It is worth visiting the castle to get the view of Nottingham from there. The landmarks are shown on signs to make them identifiable from a distance. Value for money. More

Nottingham Castle was a little bit of a disappointment, as it had no rooms decorated with period pieces to try and envision how it might have been. Had I been expecting an art museum, and gotten whatever might have explained something about the art on the walls (they had numbers, so we must have missed something), I might have enjoyed... More

It was very nice from the outside, and the caves looked great from the outside too but we were so disappointed to pay £5.50 each only to walk through a modern museum and be pressured into buying things. The things on show didnt even really relate to Nottingham castle. I guess we're too used to seeing original castles that when... More
