Carfax tower provides excellent views of the city of Oxford. It costs very little to go up the tower that it makes it a worthwhile trip to see how Oxford spreads out below. more

This is definitely worth the climb. The views are spectacular on a clear day and you can get some great photos. When we went up (Jan 2008) the telescope seemed to be broken though but the views are great anyway. The stairs are very narrow and spiral so can be a little scary, especially as you can see through them... more

I've been up the tower a couple times with mates. I think its about a quid to go up and they limit the numbers so it stays safe. The climb up is staggered into a few spiral staircases, these are the mostly kind where you can see where you are going rather than the narrow concrete ones where you can... more
