We visited Oxford castle recently, when visiting the area. Neither of us had been before, but after seeing the 'Oxford Castle - Unlocked' leaflets, we were keen to give it a go. Tracy our guide was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit and the views from the tower were fabulous. We had our own private tour because no-one else had tickets for this time. A warning though, the spiral staircase is steep and not good for those of you who are clausterphobic. more
I went to Oxford Castle for my anniversary in November. It was brilliant with the guided tour first then left to our own devices complete with hand held electronic guides. We wandered around at our own pace learning all about the prisoners and it was fascinating. Plus you got to dress up in prison uniform and have your mug shot... more
