My husband and I went to Blenheim Palace recently and it was a relaxing day. We took a long walk around the grounds which were fabulous. We played on the putting green, with the giant chess, but missed out the maze as hundreds of french students decended upon us and we wanted to get away. The butterfly house was nice... more

We visited Blenheim Palace on the 23/03/2008, Easter Sunday and after what was a rip-off visit I just wanted to share some thoughts with you to better inform you on your next visit. Once you enter the grounds you immediately have to pay admission. You can either pay £16.50 for the palace, gardens and park or £9.50 without the palace.... more

We used to enjoy visiting the village of Woodstock and walking around the grounds of the palace after lunch. Tried to do the same last weekend and were horrified to discover that it now costs £9.50 per person just to get into the grounds! It's £16.50 for the palace itself - from what I recall of my last visit, that... more

We are lucky to live not far away (30 min drive) so visit at least once annually. The entrance fee is very high (£16.50 this year) but just about worth it if you make a day of it and see all there is to see, especially if you are from overseas. The palace itself only has a small number of... more

We visited in late November and really enjoyed seeing the Christmas decorations. They had placed a row of Christmas trees among the columns on either side of the plaza at the main entrance to the palace. These were lit with small lights which really didn't show up much when we first viewed them. As the day wore on, and the... more

This palace is amazing and I am so happy that it was included on my tour of England. The grounds and gardens are spectacular and the palace itself is huge and imposing. We were able to take a tour inside and all I can say is wow. Added to that wow factor is that fact that it was where Winston... more

On a glorious late September afternoon this was a perfect place to visit. Very few tourist, lots to see and do and very helpful and well informed staff. Within the palace there is a complementary guided tour, and this is well worth doing as the guides are excellent. more

We went to Blenheim Palace and took advantage of a 2 for 1 ticket which was worthwhile - I would not have been happy to have paid £28 for the two of us. We spent a lot of time wandering around the grounds which were well maintained and worth a visit if you are in the area. The palace and... more

If you can find a way to get to Bleinham Palace you will be amazed. It's simply beautiful and breath-taking. My experience is that it was far less crowded and touristy than Hampton Court or Warwick Castle. The view of the Avon is gorgeous. Kenneth Branaugh's Hamlet was partially filmed here. Soak up the scenery! more
