Although small compared to many other museums it is still filled with many exibits, galleries and even interactive elements showing the history of reading and the surounding areas. as i'm local i found it of great intrest, however if you are not from the area you may not find some things as intresting as others would. but with free entry... More

This museum has been put together to provide the story of Reading from the Romans to Huntley and Palmer's biscuits! And then they have a Victorian life size sewn copy of the Bayeux Tapestry done by the ladies of Leek Sewing Club! A bit eclectic with no clear route through the exhibits but you can easily spend an interesting couple... More

In Reading? Apparently the museum possesses the only copy in the world outside Bayeux. We had a very interesting guided tour by the museum staff. If you are even vaguely interested in history, this is a must do. More

Full of interesting artifacts and interactive activities. Staff are friendly and helpful and its free entry! the only issue i find with Reading is the parking charges are sky high! Reading borough council really need to sort this out. More

Very good local museum. Was amazed how much they have in there. Really good entertainment for at least half a day. More

I liked the replica of the Bayeux tapestry (without the naughty bits of the original) and the great way the building is being used for art and history. The Town Hall itself is a gem of a building More
