Went to Cheddar Caves for the first time, and it was a good trip. Previous notes about claustrophobia are appropriate. Don't expect huge stalactites and stalagmites, but the caves are still nice. We didn't go on the walks as we didn't have time, but local pubs are fun. Also, the cheese is good. We brought some back to North America... More

We've visited the caves many times and they are good - not to be recommended if you suffer from even mild claustrophobia. We have walked the entire length of the gorge on the hills on either side and the views are breath taking! Park at the top and walk down one side and up the other (via Jacob's ladder if... More

We stayed at Seekings (www.seekingsselfcatering.co.uk) in an exceptionally clean and well equipped one bedroom apartment with a friendly but unobtrusive owner who provided flowers, biscuits, fruit, and breakfast. Cheddar Gorge exceeded my expectations! The scenery is beautiful, and the caves are well worth a visit (don't be put off by the wwebsite!). We bought the most delicious cheddar cheese too.... More

Gough's cave was a little pricey, but the story behind the cave was fascinating! My husband and I enjoyed the walk through the cave and the beauty within. We have been to prettier caves, but really enjoyed the story behind the determined work it took to reveal the cave. Very quaint town, tasty cheese. We thought it was worth the... More

fabulous fun...facing your fears and over coming them! excellent guide and instructor (richard), a lot more like the real thing than expected... proper squeezes and ledge traverses ! Only downside is our countries ridiculous health and safety!!! After doing the caving , which i would imagine has its potential dangers...which i appreciate and like...on leaving the cave system, walking back... More

A nice walk through the gorge and main town on a wet and windy may day.The caves and audio tour enjoyable but disappointed with the changes since my last visit 22 years ago. Although quite pricey quite a few nice gifts ie cheese cider biscuits etc plenty of places to eat and drink. It is a huge big area to... More

The surf had been flat in Croyde so we came here. One of the caves was flooded so we could not view that but the sun shone all day and we had a great walk along both sides of the gorge (Helped to work off all the fudge we had been eating!) There are loads of shops, loads of places... More

We visited this attraction on a very quiet day out of season which meant it was a pleasant little town to walk around and we found a parking spot that was included in our extortionately priced gorge attractions admission ticket (very small carpark!). the caves were great (but was a real shame that you had to exit Gough's cave into...
