I've visited the caves twice in the past, once in the early 60's with my parents & again about 25 years ago so cannot comment on the current situation regarding pricing but I do feel that a separate price for each attraction would be fairer. To give a comparison with Carlsbad Caverns in the USA that we visited a few... more

Gough's Cave excellent auditory commentry which was very interesting. Cox' Cave was quite spectacular although the Crystal Cave was hilarious for adults, it would suitably frighten children! We did not take the tour bus as we had already driven through the gorge. If you approach from the south/east though, this is worth taking. We have also saved the walk for... more

I went to Cheddar in the summer of 2007 and liked it. It can be rather touristy but I never really got that feeling while I was there. We had lunch in a little privately owned tea house and paid around 10-12 for a nearly a dozen sandwiches. We found the caves interesting and so enjoyed them. The best part... more

The CG is awsome, the caves great, but in high season get busy, parking can be a long walk, no or little sidewalks. £4. Shops- lots selling tourist stuff, what else? Didnt do the steps walk?, Do go, kids will be OK. Teens maybe less so. Dont trust SatNav going uphill to nxt destination - single track roads - a... more

I am just letting you know how dissapointed my family and I where with the price that we were expected to pay. £58 for 2 adults a 16 and 12 yr old is way over the top for a hole in the ground and a walk up a hill. Similar caves in Yorkshire cost around £15-25 for a similar group... more

Spectacular Gorge owned by the National Trust and Lord Bath. All the attractions are Lord Bath's (one of the richest men in England). Two adults two kids would cost you £60 + if you include parking for 2 hours max of entertainment (if you think paying to climb up a steep stair is fun) . This is very poor value... more

We've been doing quite a few UK 'days out' this year and have recently been to Warwick Castle. Why do I mention this? Well it is to give a comparison in terms of value for money with other UK tourist attractions and because the ticket prices are not a million miles apart. The caves today were £16 for adults and... more

We arrived at 0915 just before things got too busy and parked in a car park further into the village. This was only £3 for the day and gave a discount of £1 per person off the ticket for the caves and gorge. You can buy the entry tickets at a few places, but I would recommend buying them from... more

If, like me, you are a novice without a head for heights and don't really like dark, confined spaces then these Rocksport activities are made for you. My boyfriend and I were the only 2 people on our Monday morning caving expedition. I was very nervous when we walked past the regular visitors kitted out in our overalls, wellies and... more

I imagined the Cheddar Gorge to be a quaint village in beautiful countryside - wow was I disappointed. The area is fully of overpriced tacky souvenir shops. You can't pay for the attractions separately and the package is rip off. Stay at home and save your money. more
