an all day event - if weather good - Best rides are Air, Oblivion and Nemesis. The new ride Rita was disappointing - if you don't get on you haven't missed much. Oblivion queues goes down quick so don't buy the queue jumping tickets it wasn't busy enough even in August and we were able to get on 4 times... more

Alton Towers is the best theme park in the UK- great for the kids, teens, twenties and older! Even my Mum (whose 60) like it! She was great on Duel, a shooting ride! My husband is a big thrill seeker so was very happy- he was like a teenager again!- and took my niece whose 12 on all the big... more

The theme park and hotels really are what they are expected to be, nothing like disney, but still magical. Obviously they cram as many people into the place as possible, which is why we went to the park early and dinner late. But the place is lovely, with it's sprawling gardens and stunning surroundings. I go back here time after... more

My boyfriend and I went to Alton Towers last week to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. We planned our trip so that we wouldn’t clash with the school holidays, and by waiting for all the kids to go back the park was very quiet, mainly young adults like us, and the queue times were very very short. About 10 minutes for... more

We booked one day at the water park and one day at the theme park and it was great value for money. Once you've paid in the gate all the rides are free so you can go on as many times as you like. The length of the queues can be a bit off putting but they really do move... more

I cannot begin to describe how dissapointed I was at our visit to Alton Towers during August 2009. Overpriced, overcrowded, and over hyped. It took us over 2 1/2 hours to get there from Stoke (a 40 minute journey!) after we'd queued in traffic, walked from the car park and queued again to pay.It was so busy that average queues... more

We have just come back from a weekend at Alton Towers with two teenagers who throughly enjoyed it. My review should be short & sweet as it is very much in the same vein as the others. We definately had to pay £5 for Parking as there was no way to get out past the manned barriers,Is this a recent... more
