Save your money we visited Aug 2009. It cost £18 for family of 3 and was a total waste of money. The Otter section was so unclean the smell made us feel sick, The sealion section outside was dirty and you could not see the sealions as the water was disgusting. A good attraction, only aquarium in Tyne and Wear. We go there quite often. They have recently opened an outdoor Seal Cove. Close to the Metro station Cullercoats (15 min walk) and you can see the beach from the aquarium entrance. Overall a good attraction. more

I recently visited the Blue Reef and was really impressed. I took my 7 year old niece and she absolutely loved it! This place is lovely!! There is lots to see. Our favourites were the seahorses, "nemos" and the giant crab. There are also frogs and the otters are so cute!
