I'd been looking forward to going to Blue Reef Tynemouth for a while - it's on my doorstep and I thought it might be a fun and interesting way to spend an afternoon. Sadly, I left feeling rather underwhelmed. We spent a total of 50 minutes here (including the time queuing to pay), and I can't really recommend it. I... More

First, not a good value for money at all. Has some aqatic animals and some monkeys on display. Wouldn't take an hour to keep the kids busy with the tour. Smelly place. I don't catch the idea of displaying monkeys and birds in an aquarium even when they do not have enough fish on display. If travelling around anyway in... More

It's definitely not the biggest aquarium we've been to. We were suprised when we got to the end as it was quite small. However, it's got lots of different types of exhibitions and has a shark tunnel that you can walk under, which is pretty cool. If you're taking a trip to the coats anyway, then including Blue Reef Aquarium... More

A family ticket for five will set you back just close to £40, which I feel is a tad pricey as you could whizz around in around 20 mins or so IF you choose to. But we went at the beginning of the season so the place wasn't too full and we were able to take our time and get... More
