My favourite gallery in Newcastle - a must for any illustration junkie. The work is inspirational & its fantastic to see it in its original form - tip ex blobs and all. The intricacy of some of the artwork that gets lost in the print process is truly breathtaking and well worth seeing. The exhibitions areas are set up to... More

Visited on a Sunday late morning/early afternoon and was not as busy as I thought it would be considering the forecast was for rain. A pleasant place to visit, however to sum it up, your paying to get into a book shop. Two floors had exhibitions of authors work which was interesting. My daughter aged 5 enjoyed the story telling... We've only visiting in the school holidays but it's always been overrun. The entry fee and cafe run expensive for a family day. Good exhibitions if you can cope with the crowds and can afford it. More

Completely LOVED this idea, we made paperplanes in the creation station, we listened to stories read out by staff whilst we sat on cushions, we ate in the restaurant and bought signed books from the shop, our 3year old loves the aliens in underpants and when a monster is born especially followed by the gruffalo!! it truly is inspirationalplace for... Fab place. The crafts section downstairs is a favourite with my 7 year old. Was very busy when we went at half term but the place is big enough not to feel crowded and there were regular announcements to say which section was busy so you didn't have to queue if you didn't want. Staff are very friendly and helpful... More

My first ever visit to this attraction and myself and family visiting that day (3 adults and four age 8-11 year olds all enjoyed it. The Jacqueline Wilson temporary exhibition was popular as was the dressing up in the attic. There was a special friendship bracelet making event and the lady who was working in that section was very helpful.... More
