Kenilworth Castle is a fairly well maintained castle and grounds that is well worth a visit. It is far different from nearby Warwick Castle but not directly comparable. Kenilworth Castle is a good contrast to the more touristy Warwick Castle, its neighbor. It is spacious and almost never crowded, surrounded by beautiful scenery (and a lovely 1.5 mile walk circling the castle fields). The newly restored Elizabethan gardens are stunning. We had just spent a woeful couple of hours at Warwick Castle and so decided to come here. It restored our faith! Great to climb around, loads of history, good interpretation boards, super shop, lovely staff, great location. This is the castle to come to to learn about the Dudley family.
