The food was great but the pub was a little grimy. There ws an ice cream bar but it was very expensive (50p for a flake in your ice cream!) More

Ok let's be clear here - this is a lovely stop for a drink by the river... However, the food is a disgrace (only recommended to those that appreciate mass produced garbage at sky high prices). I feel sorry for the staff, they are victims of an owners obsession with bar codes, and an indifference to what people really want.... More

Went to see AC/DC tribute band, Hells Bells, last Sat night. It was fabulous - as always. Thank you Cox's Yard! Great venue. Always love a bit of Angus in his school shorts playing solos on the bar! Long may you let there be rock! More

i went for lunch with my family i orded a beef burger with chips, the chips were stale and un-cooked and the burger had big chunks of animal fat in it. my daughter had a vegetarian option, a 'veggie' burger with a side of salad and a misplaced peice of chicken. i thought this was damn right rude being as... I have to disagree with some of the previous reviews. We stopped at Cox's yard on a friday afternoon for lunch. We chose it because of the setting by the river. We were served drinks quickly but did have approx a 30 minute wait for food- but it was busy so we expected it. Food is your average menu but... More

Great riverside drinking location good service particularly behind the bar.Food described as home cooked but clearly wasn't.Potato skins were microwaved half jackets soft and soggy on the outside and still hard in the centres.Would only recommend for a place to drink. More

I'm delighted you enjoyed our location and service and really sorry the potato skins were disappointing. Everything is cooked to order on site and our Head Chef cares deeply. If you would like to come back we'll happily give you a free main course if you contact me by email beforehand geoff@coxsyard.co.uk More

We went on sunday for lunch as we were having a day out in Stratford, it was really busy and we just about found a table. I'm vegetarian so choice was limited however the burger I chose was nice but they had run out of Mozzarella and they forgot my coleslaw. Otherwise it was nice!!! More

Great setting shame about the food. Ordered 4 meals and the curry was cold and came without the bread and dip, COMPLAINED and sent it back. Meanwhile my daughter found a large bone in her chicken burger. COMPLAINED and after laughing they offered us drinks. Had 4 coffees but came without milk, another wait to attract someones attention. Curry came... More
