Only costs 50p, something few people have tried, and genuinely useful (nearest bridges are some distance away). It was lovely to cross the river on such a beautiful day and afforded the taking of some very nice photos from the middle.

What do you expect for 50p?
Foot ferry takes you from one bank to the other in approximately 3 minutes.This is a very unusual experience but worth doing just for the memory.

The chain ferry is a cheap and easy way to get across the Avon from the recreation ground to just near the Swan theatre. It is operated by hand by one of the friendly people who take your small loose cahnge! Brill!

The Ferry has to be the best value attraction in Stratford. It travels between the popular Dirty Duck pub on Waterside to the recreation ground and saves you a good 20 minute walk.
It's very popular boat users and walkers alike.
It has been running since 1937 and is the last of it's kind in Britain.
