The gardens include a formal parterre, woodland walk and the wider parkland (inspired by 'Capability' Brown), which offer walks with picturesque views across the River Avon. Photos show huge house but only about 6 main rooms open as large area of house still inhabited. Nice grounds for wandering. More

I was very impressed by my visit to this, the ancestral home of the Lucy family. The house is presented as it would have looked in Victorian times with many very fine antiques and paintings. There were volunteer room guides on hand to explain invidual rooms and their trappings which was very helpful. The house and parterre have a lovely... More

This is a lovely park to visit.Cars are parked across a road from the enterance so the air is very clean.The park has its own wild deer.The grounds and gardens are very flat and easy to access.The tea rooms are nice and they make a good cup of tea! It was raining heavily during our visit but that didnt stop the visitors. Great national trust place as usual Manicured gardens, river avon running through, plenty of walks, shop and restaurant. House in interesting with helpful staff More

Visited as part of the National Trust Open Weekend, this is on our door step but we had not had the chance to go before, the quality of the house and beautiful gardens is outstanding the staff were all knowlegable and enthusiatic, The kitchen staff were experimenting with an upside down cake and gave us some excellent advice on building... Great House Architecture, Good representation of english heritage. Good presentation by the staff to explain about the history of house. Beautiful garden and nice walk along river Avon. More
