We booked on 13th April on line for a Sunday evening "Hooked on Classics" performance. We were surprised to arrive at the theatre to find the shutters down and a small notice saying that the performance had been cancelled. No-one there to apologise, no reason, and, far worse, no attempt to let us know although the theatre had our postal... More

The Alex, like most theatres, charges booking fees. But in the case of the Alex you can also get stung for an 'administration fee' On my two most recent visits this has amounted to roughly 25% of the ticket price. Since last booking I have been advised that other booking agencies charge less for the same event. Shop around -... More

I've been here a few times, the last being to see The Circus of Horrors: The Ventriloquist. The night was amazing and the show was brilliant, the seats could be elevated to allow a good view for everyone, even at the back, but other than that I loved my experience there. More

I went to this theatre to see Dancing in the streets, which is a fantastic show. Before the show we bought a couple of drinks, and was asked if we would like to order one for the interval. For four drinks, two non alcoholic it was over £15! Theatre was nice, seats comfortable, and the stalls was a great place... More

There are a number of good concerts on each year. Whilst the seating is comfortable the venue is a little dated. More
