The Shakespeare Express (operated by Vintage Trains on behalf of Tyseley Loco Works) is a fantastic experience. The journey (around 1 hour in each direction) takes in some beautiful countryside whilst also allowing the passenger to experience a bygone age of steam travel. Travelling behind a vintage steam train at over 60mph is something special and this regular trip to and from Stratford upon Avon is great fun and a wonderful way to experience a bye gone age. More

Travelled today on the Vintage Trains journey from Birmingham to Stratford On Avon. We were pulled by an old Great Western Railway steam engine 4965 ROOD ASHTON HALL built in 1929 and as we paid for 'Premier Dining' we were in an old Mk 1 Pullman dining car. Spent a few days with the family in Stratford last summer. Discovered a lunch trip from Stratford and return on a British Steam train serving a traditional roast beef lunch. Food way great. Coaches were from the 1950's. Beautiful countryside. Everything you could wish for on an English Sunday steam journey! More
