Was a bit disappointed to be truthful. Its like a lot of old greenhouses now used for some wierd little gardens, and a bit of a managery. Quite ramshackle in places. I dont think its worth £8 per adult.

The place does look a little rundown and a bit DIY but there are a fair amount of butterflies and quite a lot of birds some of which will sit on your hand if you are brave enough to offer it. There are some other animals, donkeys, guiney pigs, rabbits, reptiles and more.
The food from the cafe is pretty...

Had a lovely morning out here with a 4 year old. Pretty much all of it is under cover so ideal for a wet day. Costs £8 for an adults but if you visit their website before you go you can print off a voucher to save a £1 per person.
Love being able to go in with the butterflies...

At 8 punds per adult, this is a very overpriced experience. It consists of a butterfly room, with no information about the butterflies and a hole in the corner, are they filling the pond in or digging another? A room of parrots, no information here either. The gardens are a mystery, as they they claim to be japanese etc, but...

I looked at the map provided at the entry desk and thought that we would not be able to make the most of the gardens outside...

Went for the first time a couple of weekends after Easter. Interesting reading the mixed reviews... both ends of the spectrum have an element of truth! It does feel a bit tatty, unprofessional, uncomercialised etc., but therein lies its charm (to me)!
If it were expensive I would have been unimpressed... but I went with a 5 & 2 year...

A total rip-off. When we visited the whole place had the air of somewhere that had seen better days. The planting was sparse and scruffy, paintwork peeling, staff off-hand. The museum was so damp it stank, with visible damp stains and cobwebs over the exhibits. A complete waste of an afternoon.

We went to see the butterflies over the Easter weekend and really enjoyed the beautiful big butterflies flapping around the butterfly glasshouse. The aviary next door was fab too - both you walk amoungst the animals :O)
Seperately, the miniture donkeys, rabbits, lizards, owls, tortoises and turtles were good too. We didn't see the ferrets.
