Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

On first seeing it immediately thought it was a former church. But given the importance of textiles it made sense that it was a gorgeous wool trading hall.

Dating from the mid 1860s and gorgeously in Gothic Revival styling, its opulence is testament to the wealth that these industries accumulated.

Today it’s a well known bookshop with a Cafe upstairs.

Absolutely gorgeous building and a fine example of Bradford’s heritage. The most magical book shop I’ve ever visited with a wide range of stock. A stones throw away from The Broadway shopping centre so a great location too.

This is a waterstone's bookshop and must be it's best looking store. It is based in the old wood exchange. The architecture inside is amazing. Just go for a walk round staff don't mind you talking pictures.

The building that The Wool Exchange is in, is gorgeous. It is gothic revival architecture and was a wool trading post in the 19th century. Today it is a shopping centre that includes an electrical repair shop, Waterstones, several cafes and restaurants, and a salon. My favourite place inside was Waterstones. It looks like you are inside a converted church. It is absolutely beautiful. When I went in it was quiet like a library and very peaceful. I could have spent a few hours in there if I didn't have my boyfriend nagging me.

If you are in the area, you will not want to miss The Wool Exchange even if it is just to have a quick look around. Enjoy.

A spectacular grade I listed gothic revival building. Much of the place is now occupied by the Waterstones bookshop, where the shelves are rather dwarfed in the cavernous interior. Up on the mezzanine floor, the Café W coffee shop affords great views of the building, and with large windows that lets in light and allows views of the surrounding city. The shop itself is a fairy typical café, with a few sandwiches and cake, pleasant service and OK coffee, but that might be a secondary reason to visit after the view. Note that the café did have offers on certain books which included a drink and piece of cake in the purchase price, so check up here before buying downstairs.

The Wool Exchange was at the very heart of Bradford's wool trade when it was one of the worlds richest cities. Now it is home to a spectacular branch of Waterstone's bookstore and upstairs on the balcony level overlooking the bookshelves is Cafe W where you can enjoy great coffee and cake and admire the wonderful architecture. A great place to relax, browse and chill out.

In a city with some remarkable historic buildings the Wool Exchange is probably my favourite. Stunning architecture and history and congratulations to Waterstones who now occupy this building for preserving many features.
