Johnnie Briggs is passionate about the Brontes and about sharing his knowledge of the family and the world they lived in. We were fascinated by his insight into this complex family living on the edge of the moors while Haworth played its role in the 19 th century equivalent of Silicon Valley as the Industrial revolution developed. The walk takes... More

I went on this tour with my girlfriend, who had read Wuthering Heights, etc, and was interested in learning more about the Brontes. I had no major interest in the family, but liked the town, and wanted to find out more about how they fitted into its history. We met our tour guide - Johnny - by the church, and... More

This is a fantastic way of learning about the whole Bronte story rather than just the 3 most famous sisters. The guide is very knowledgeable and passionate himself about the Bronte family and weaves a love story throughout the hour plus we spent with him. I would strongly recommend this to real fans of the Bronte's as it gives you... More

We arrived in haworth on a cold and wet morning with no set ideas of what to do. We chanced upon the visitors centre who recommended the passionate brontes walk and thank god they did, it turned out to be one of the most affecting and wonderful 90 minutes for my husband and I. Being the only people on the... More

Johnny Briggs has the gift of making the Bronte story come alive with interesting details, historical facts and fascinating stories of the family and village. He is an expert and friendly communicator. We had the walk before entering the Parsonage and he set the story of the Brontes in context. I have experienced many guided tours before but Johnny's talk... More

The Bronte museum is closed at the moment so we thought we would find out about the family on the Passionate Brontes walk. The guide is friendly, interacts with you and is very enthusiastic about his subject. You don't walk far; just far enough to get some idea of what Howarth was like at that time. We think the outside... More

We arrived at the tourist office too late for the 1pm tour and disappointed that the parsonage was closed for january. The very friendly office staff volunteered to run and ask Jonny to take us on a tour of our own (4 of us) he very kindly agreed to rearrange his afternoon and we were so grateful he did. The... More

My partner was studying Wuthering Heights for her MA Project so for her birthday I decided to take her to Haworth. Firstly it is a beautiful area of the world with great people. As we arrived in Haworth we saw signs for a Bronte Tour so we decided to give it a go. We met Johnny Briggs and we ended... More

Johnny was a wonderful guide. The amount of information was amazing; he painted a picture with words of the Bronte family and their trials as well as their amazing accomplishments. A must for everyone whether you have ever read any of the Bronte books or not. A true look back at a time that was of great historical importance. Thanks... More
