The Cathedral is currently celebrating it's 750th year by holding a flower festival inside. Admission is £8 and using timed entry tickets. The flowers themselves are beautiful, with arrangements by local groups and schools to represent the local parishes and their achivements. On top of all this, you have the maginifient cathedral itself and one of the four copies of... more
If you are in the area, be sure to stop by Salisbury Cathedral to see the church itself which is huge and very interesting, and the original copy of the Magna Carta housed there. more
Beautiful architecture, lovely to see something that old still standing. You must pay to go in, and I've had my fill of paying to look at churches. I really do love the architecture though. Really amazing. Get yourself a takeaway sandwich and some cookies from Reeve the Baker on Butcher row and eat them in the park near the cathedral.... more

As well as this, they light it up at night, and it looks... more
This is a really good place to visit. The big bonus for me was getting to see one of the original Magna Cartas! The interior is beautiful. Look for the black marble pillars bending beneatht the weight of the huge spire which is over 400 feet high. One of the worlds oldest working clocks is here as well. Just fascinating. more
This one is right up there with York Minster and Canterbury Cathedral, with Britain's tallest spire, this is a wonderful cathedral to visit. The cloiister gardens outside are nice and there's also a display with an original imprint of the Magna Carta (one of only four). To top it all, British former Prime Minister Edward Heath is buried here. more
