Stayed 2 nights in the village in a room called the watch house. The entire place was an amazing mix of spectacular buildings, great food and service and superb walks in very a strange, silent atmosphere. I would very much recoment the watch house as although one of the smaller suites it is set on the edge of a cliff with... more

When we used to holiday in Wales every summer we often got a season ticket. Now children are older and we visit other locations we tend to come in the Winter. From roughly begining of November to beginning of March you can get free entry either by downloading a leaflet from their website or picking one up at the Festiniog... more

The title says it all, save your money and visit somewhere else. The place is full of old people and tour buses / groups of old people. Perhaps if you were around in the 1960s and remember the original The Prisoner TV series, then it is the place for you. Don't get me wrong the place is quite pretty, but... more

Hafod Cae Maen is a luxurious Edwardian villa overlooking the famous village of Portmeirion. If you're looking for a fabulous family retreat with fantastic views and access to wonderful countryside, look no further. Light a log fire, sip a glass of wine and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. An added treat is to visit the Portmeirion Hotel for dinner. What a... more

Portmeirion Village is a place for old people who have nothing better to do than walk around a glorified resort complex/hotel and pay for the privilege of doing that. i cannot say anything favorable about this place and am sorry my wife and i wasted our time and money visiting here. more

Travelled by train from Glasgow to nearby Minffordd railway station. TIP. Portmeirion Hotel runs free shuttlebus service to and from station . Hotel grounds stunning , staff exceptionally helpfull. The restaurant staff were attentive without being overbearing. Stayed four nights in the 'Salution Suite' which was well equipped and comfortable. Only slight gripe the restaurant menu ,although superb, didn't change... more

Portmeirion is the kind of place that is almost indescribeable. It is different things to different people. For me, it is a magical village which evokes happy memories of all the visits I've made with loved ones throughout my lifetime. If the sun shines then it is a little slice of heaven on earth. If you've never visited then make... more

This was a truly magical place. My advice - get there for opening - 9.30. We practically had the place to ourselves and enjoyed wandering around looking at the amazing architecture and through the woodland paths. The place is immaculate and the staff friendly and helpful. Plenty parking. I would advise sensible footwear as lots of walking up and down... more
