Portmeirion Village is a place for old people who have nothing better to do than walk around a glorified resort complex/hotel and pay for the privilege of doing that. i cannot say anything favorable about this place and am sorry my wife and i wasted our time and money visiting here. more

Travelled by train from Glasgow to nearby Minffordd railway station. TIP. Portmeirion Hotel runs free shuttlebus service to and from station . Hotel grounds stunning , staff exceptionally helpfull. This was a truly magical place. My advice - get there for opening - 9.30. We practically had the place to ourselves and enjoyed wandering around looking at the amazing architecture and through the woodland paths. The place is immaculate and the staff friendly and helpful.
