The castle is truly incredible. It is a Victorian statement of the wealth of the owners, and to some completely 'over the top'. The volunteers were knowledgeable, and the building and contents breathtaking. One visit was not enough. More

Living locally, this is one place that we visit often. The guided tours round the castle are very interesting. The guides are very knowledgeable and make it very interesting. On top of the tour it is well worth seeing the Victorian kitchens and the railway museum. The cafe is situated near the Victorian kitchens and the food is simple but... More

I really enjoyed our visit to Penrhyn Castle. It was really quite splendid and the volunteers were very helpful and informative. They were especially good with little ones. We had a 2 year old and a 5 year old with us and somehow they managed to keep them interested in what is essentially a tour of a Victorian Stately Home!... More

The oppulence of this Castle/Museum has got to be seen to be believed The thickness of the doors are quite impressive and held on by only two brass hinges They look as though they weigh half a ton? Very impressive building ,as a lot of restoration has gone on and it has been done to an extremely high standard. Two... More

We had a guided tour of the castle, the guide made it most worth while and can be pre arranged for groups. The castle built in early 1800's as a summer retreat is enormous and magnificent. Every thing was very decorative and the national trust has restored some of it so you do not get to see it all. Wonderfully... More

We visited the castle on the 'free weekend'. Hubby is in a wheelchair and it was impossible to get in the castle on my own. A steep hill to entrance that is gravelled, it is not possible to push a wheelchair on gravel !!!!! never mind uphill. A couple of gentlemen helped us into the castle. Inside ramps are provided...
