I really enjoyed our visit to Penrhyn Castle. It was really quite splendid and the volunteers were very helpful and informative. They were especially good with little ones. We had a guided tour of the castle, the guide made it most worth while and can be pre arranged for groups. The castle built in early 1800's as a summer retreat is enormous and magnificent. we drove past the castle entrance,a big board said 'open daily',so we set off the next day,got there and it was closed;since learnt that it is not open tuesday,also on the board was no info on opening times etc,it doesn't open till 11am More

We visited the castle on the 'free weekend'. Hubby is in a wheelchair and it was impossible to get in the castle on my own.
