The walk to the top of Dinas Bran is a challenge if you are not prepared, however, once you reach the summit, prepare yourself for some spectacular views. Take a picnic and relax in the castle ruins and read the history plaques. More

It is a steep climb up to the top of Dinas Bran, but the spectacular views are worth it! On a clear day you can see for miles and it overlooks the lovely town of Llangollen. The views are incredible. The ruins are very interesting and give it a magical, mysterious effect. It makes you feel like you are stepping... More

A good walk with lovely views. Be careful if you're not too fit as it is very uphill, but good exercise! More

Very long steep climb from the abbey campsite at the bottom but spectacular views from the top and well worth the effort. Interesting ruins and history. More

From the valley the climb to this ruined castle looks pretty challenging but in fact the ascent is not that bad and before you know it you are at the top and able to admire the views and the single minded purpose and determination of the chum of the Prince of Wales who built it around 1260AD. More

I did this walk with my boyfriend and realised just how unfit I actually was! It doesn't look much from below, but the walk up hill is really tough on your legs but when you get to the top the views are so gorgeous and stunnung. You can see for miles on a clear day. If I did it again... More

Only a short ascent to brilliant views on a clear day. Llangollen is well worth a visit, the river, canal and town area area are very pleasant to walk around. The surrounding countryside is beautiful. More

it was a tough walk up on the knees, and down on the thigh muscles, but well worth it for the views, solitude and scenery. There are a few benches on the way so very useful. More

Many memories of Dinas Bran which can be seen from a distance when entering Llangollen along the A5 from Wrexham. May I mention that Castell Dinas Bran is in ruins, following a non too easy climb some may be disappointed if they didn't know! If its a sunny day, you are fit and healthy and enjoy history and the outdoors... More
