What a relaxing way to see the langollen canal with a fantastic cafe with friendly staff the only way better would be by canoe
Good captain. Excellent informative story's all the way along. The drinks helped too. Great way to travel along such a pretty canal. Do it. Easy to book. Good value. Nice to do
Our captain was knowledgable and pleasant to chat with. It rained off and on during our tour, but one can stay dry in the cabin. There are two tours - the one over the pontcysyllte aqueduct and the horse drawn one. Be sure to purchase the correct tour for you. The aqueduct tours either start with a boat ride and... More
It was hard to appreciate the scenery or the aqueduct architecture from inside the boat. There were so many boats on the canal our 'cruise' was caught in a traffic jam for more than an hour. The teenagers got restless trapped in a hot boat, so we got out and walked back to town. The captain of the boat was... More
If you visit llangollen and you love canals and barges, you just have to treat yourself to a trip across the aqueduct...a Unesco Word Heritage Site. An amazing experience and a perfect follow-on trip from the horse drawn barge trip to the horseshoe falls. The trip lasting two hours takes you from the wharf, over the aqueduct and on to... More
Absolutely shocked to be fleeced for £11 each for a trip on a canal boat pulled by a horse. Also, our trip was spoiled by the boat operator verbally abusing the people on the boat in front. Do the canal walk on foot and save yourself the hassle and rip off prices.
The 2 hour trip is very relaxing which start or ends in Llangollen or by the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct (which is the highlight). I found the commentary very interesting and learnt quite a few things that I did not previously know about waterways and engineer Thomas Telford. Not the trip for you if you suffer from vertigo (although you don't have... More
Had lunch for 3 here. Not many customers so the place was fairly quiet. Had shrimp sandwiches which came with a small salad and chips (crisps). There is no dressing available for the salad unless you wanted mayo in small packets. Sandwich was good
Excellent attraction with the only downside being that the viaduct trip at the end of the cruise ( if you start off in Llangollen) is over very quick compared to the length of time taken to get there. I'd rate this as 10* the value of spending nearly twice the money on the Snowdon Mountain Railway.
Excellent. Try the horse drawn boats for a really peacefull trip up tp Horseshoe falls and the Chainbridge Hotel which is now under new management a nd looking good. Suggest walk up alongside the canal to the hotel and boat back or vice versa!
