We approached the Abbey from the top of the nearby hill. The view was very impressive, spoilt only by the sprawling caravan park right beside it. Very pleased to get to know more about the Abbey's history in the small museum; very-well thought out. It should receive more visitors though; we were the only ones there.

The abbey is rather well preserved. Unique to this one is a video rendering of what it would have been like when at full capacity many centuries ago.

This is one of the most atmospheric and beautiful historic sites I have ever been to. There is so much of the building left you can really imagine what it would have been like when the monks lived here. Visited twice in two days.

Beautiful building; so unexpected. We strolled around at a gentle pace simply enjoying both the architecture and the peace and serenity of such a scenic location.

The abbey is a photographers dream. Great location and very interesting. Took 2 simultaneous images, one in colour and then one in black and white...ghostly face on the black and white one!!! It is now featured on the BBC North East Wales Website under their ghost section. Great day out.

Just another ruin not very well presented . I feel a lot more could be made of what is a beautiful site

This abbey built around 1300 and closed in the reign of Henry VIII is well preserved and certainly worth a visit, its at the foot of the horseshoe pass and very close to Llangollen.

Visited out of season, so no charge just walked around. Charges apply in season but wouldnt have wished to pay. Very old ruins, but pleasant enough, river running at edge of grassed area.

A lovely ruin of a building that's nice and peaceful to wander around "off season" not sure what it would be like in July and August especially with a camp site right by it's side.
This campsite does unfortunately ruin it a little for me, even though it wasn't nosiy or anything when I was there - it just doesn't...
