This is an unmissable experience. The train takes about an hour each way. You only get 30mins on the summit before you have to reboard the train. If it's a fine day, and you are properly equipped, you can always walk down the 8km path adjacent the railway line back to Llanberis. Pre-booking is essential.

Snowdon Mountain Railway costs £25 a person which can seem pricey but is a very worthwhile experience. The train departs every half hour from the station, but can be booked up well in advance. Even though we visited on a Tuesday at 10am (not in school holidays) we had to wait an hour and 15 mins for the next available...

However i would certainly make...

We didn't book ahead as we were unsure what the weather was going to bring, as it was it was bright and blue skyed. Arriving at 10.15 on Saturday we were told that the next available train was at 1.30; the someone at a neighbouring ticket booth was told 10.30, and when the girl checked, there was space on the...
