We took the path from Cwm Gwydi car park, it looked a challenging walk from there but was well worth the climb with the only very steep section as we approached the top. Just been walking up Pen y Fan in the Brecon Beacons and all i can say it was well worth the time and effort to see what a beautiful country we live in and only 12 miles away from where i live it was simply breathtaking and the pictures i took were awesome More

I did this hike with a friend of mine. We set off from a few kilometres North of Corn Du and headed straight up to the summit of Corn Du before banking off to the right and getting to the top of Pen-y-fan. Believe it or not, its easier going up than coming down. When we went up it was so clear we could see the sand dredgers on the coast, and the big yellow rescue helicopter was out on exercise, dropping flares, landing precisely and waving to the kids, who knows, maybe Wills was in it! More

We never thought we would get to the top and enjoyed taking a more adventurous route which was hard at first but the views were breathtaking. The route up to Corn Du initially was steep and hard work, but worth the effort. You really wouldn't want to take small children who run around up here as one wrong step and... More
