This was my second visit; and it did not disappoint. This visit was set in the period of the Civil War and we were welcomed by the "doctor", the "maid" and the "huntsman". They all gave a very impressive idea of what life would have been like during the period, the doctor explaining his mistresses' ailments and the treatments he... More

loved the costumes and the way the staff interact with you, speaking the 17th century dialect, kids loved it, and our canadian guests thought it was great, nice tea and cakes afterwards in the cafe. More

This house is amazing and the staff are all in character all the way through the tour. There is an exhibition before you go into the main house which tells you about the history of the house and it's restoration. I'd love to visit again without the kids so that I could learn more about the house and its history... More

Not just beautiful gardens to wander around, but in winter it has spooky ghost tours. The best Sunday lunch ever is available all year round, its... More
