I am usually a bit critical of the National Trust, but their early work on Tredegar House is enhancing its history and the gardens will eventually be splendid. I really enjoyed the guided tour of the 1930s rooms upstairs and it's refreshing to know the last owner was a gay eccentric. Lovely lakeside walk and the folk festival on when...

I cannot believe the changes that have occurred since the national trust have taken over. We visited a year ago and decided to go back as we enjoyed it so much, and what a disappointment! Great cafe/restaurant &...

It’s been very up & down when to find it open so difficult to plan a visit. The National Trust has now taken over ownership of it so this is no longer a...

The National Trust has recently taken over the running of Tredegar House, just outside Newport and it has opened it to the public as its most 'hands-on' property yet. This place is FABULOUS.
We drank homemade lemonade, laughed with the guides, sat on sofas in the housekeeper's parlour (yes - in this house you can actually sit on the furniture...
