I was expecting some kind of maritime museum from its title but that refers to its location near to the Marina. The ground floor was spacious but there seems to be little of interest. The upper floors contained a hotchpotch of various items which, although mainly pertaining to Wales, didn't seem to be very well structured at all. Nice display... more

In the 1990s, both Swansea and Cardiff had real, impressive maritime and industrial museums. They were impressive places, packed with real exhibits from vehicles to industrial engines to looms. Visiting as a child, I remember it being a treat to visit Swansea’s museum – and I have lasting memories of how exciting it was to see big machinery being demonstrated... more

I think the first thing to say here is that the title of the museum is a little misleading. It refers to its location rather than the theme of the exhibits (although there are some with a maritime connection).
