Centrally located directly opposite the famous Europa Hotel, this pub stands out thanks to its beautiful tiled frontage and the groups of tourists gathered outside! Inside, despite the fact that many of the patrons were, no doubt, tourists like me, it manages to feel authentically 'Irish'. The stained glass and tiles throughout are beautifully maintained, and the 'snugs' created from... more

Great staff - have to say that first of all. Cannot do enough for you. An amazing building. Truly, your jaw does drop when you go inside. We were lucky enough to get one of the booths. Our waitress was great. We had oysters and guinness!!! Both were amazing. great place for people and culture watching. more

I visited Belfast for the first time on Saturday and having read the reviews on the Crown we decided to book a snug and have lunch here. We were not disapointed. The pub has a lovely atmosphere and the food was wonderful. Definitely book a table and make this a place where you have a warm pub lunch! more

A great bar, unlike anywhere else you'll see! Easily accessible from the city centre, just around the corner from the City Hall. It gets very busy so don't expect a seat, but the atmosphere is great and it has so much character! more

It's definatly worth having a drink in this place, It's very diffrent to most pubs you'll ever go to. Nicely decored inside, although if your looking for a typical irish bar/pub, then don't think this is.. it's more of a saloon bar that has been kept in great condition. more

One of those places that you must see and do if you are visiting this great City. Well worth stopping by for a drink or two just to appreciate this historic establishment. Great atmosphere, as it is generally packed out. (No doubt the air is a lot healthier than it used to be now that it is smoke free and... more

OK, it's a pub in Ireland but it's much much more. You walk into a time warp in this great pub - built in 1849 and not changed. There are no visible tables, each table being enclosed in a mahogany and stained/etched glass booth. The bench seats are comfortable enough for 6 people, but you have to be quick to... more

mixed reviews about this place on trip advisor. find it directly opposite Europa Hotel. We thought it was a great place but then we like atmosphere, history, old buildings and arcitecture so... Like being in a stage set for a Victorian film or a museum. Place was designed by publican's son in 1800's. He was a trainee architect who had... more

Found The Crown really busy, but if you can time it right and manage to find a free booth its really worth a try. The beer isn't the cheapest but the Irish Stew at £4.50 a go was great value and delicious! If you can't get a booth downstairs theres a restaurant upstairs where the same menu is available. We... more

I am currently spending a few days in Belfast with my girl friend and have had a resonable vacation. However the visit was marred by a trip to what can only be described as an "emperors new clothes" bar experience. The crown is promoted by the local tourist board as a fine example of an Irish bar, it is not.... more
