Full of tourists & locals - this back bar is empty until 930 or 10 when there's a different band every night. Guitar, bagpipes, tin whistles and fiddles - the drinks are free flowing and everyone's having a grand time. Lots of communal seating - you'll have to try real hard not to meet the people around you. The first night we arrived in Belfast we ate at Robinson's. It is walking distance from The Fitzwilliam Hotel. Meals are served "upstairs", there is a pub "downstairs"--which is the main floor. Also upstairs, but through a separate entrance in the "back" (not Victoria Street) is a disco club. Anyway, we had a decent dinner at Robinson's--to tell you how... More

We hopped across the street from the Europa to have dinner at the bistro (only place after 7pm that serves food on a Sunday) hoping to find a gem of dining. Not quite. Our server was new and we had to ask for water 3 times from 3 different people. My husband's dinner was excellent. I ordered the ham, which... More

I spent an entertaining evening in Fibber Magees listening to the traditional music and people watching. A rough and ready place "a spit and sawdust bar, packed to the rafters with old Irish artifacts" as the website describes it, I found it had a pleasant, friendly atmosphere and chatted to quite a few people. I had such a good evening... More

We ate lunch upstairs sitting a window with a great view of the street below. The food was great, the atmosphere nice but the service was mediocre. Once we got our food we never saw our server again until I tracked him down to pay the bill. The food was great though and I would go back. More

Had dinner in the restaurant upstairs with 4 friends. We walked in off the street around 6:30pm, it wasnt too busy and we had no problem finidng a table. I ordered the steak sandwich and thought it was very nice, meat was cooked perfectly, only compalint would be that the pepper sauce was too spicy. Others order pork chops and... More

Have drank in Robinson's many times over the years, nice bar downstairs but can get busy (and sometimes 'rough' at the weekend) We ate in the Bistro upstairs for the first time the other day, we were quite impressed with their lunch menu. Very reasonably priced. All four of us enjoyed our meals and the service was quick too and... More

Visited 6 pubs during my stay, but this on is the best. The front part of Robinson is a stylish, shiny bar, very pleasant, actually. But traditional music takes place at the back, at the Fibber Magees. Good trad music, people dancing with whoever wanted to dance. I was on my own, but very soon people were talking to me,... More
