I visited the Gaol about one year ago and found it to be a brilliant day out, reasonably priced and found the actual tour to be very interesting and was clearly given by real enthusiasts, something which greatly added to the experience. The Gaol is currently closed for visitors but should open some time in 2012. More

Went to a performance of Macbeth here. The austere setting and particular vibe of the place made for an absolutely amazing experience. More

I really enjoyed this tour. It gives a complete history of the jail, from child prisoners to the suffragettes, from capital punishment right up to recent history. This is a must see tour for all, including both visitors to Belfast, and locals. Staff were very friendly and knowledgable and you can't beat the price - £5! It lasts an hour... More
