Though the bridge is short, it is an "interesting" crossing -- especially if you are scared of heights (like me). For the queasy, two suggestions while crossing: don't look down and don't push out on the rope railings. (They "give" a lot more than you think.) The scenery is beautiful. I didn't mind the fee to cross -- someone has... more

If a person can walk down do it. Those afraid may as well stay at home locked in their bedroom. Get out and live. more

My husband and I, with our three children, visited this bridge many years ago when we lived in the Republic. It was June but blustery, cool, with crashing waves on the rocks and a very swaying bridge. We were the only people there and it was not yet a National Trust site so was without any safety things at all.... more

The day we visited it was windy and rainy so unlike the nearby Giant's Causeway which very crowded and a bit of a let down, it wasn't crowded here at all. We LOVED this place. Just so exhilarating and fun! A great place to visit with a teenager in tow. Well worth the drive. more

Yes it is a hike to the bridge. Yes it is a bit scary. The views and the photos are priceless. It is so worth it. As a family, we will never forget the trip to, from and across the bridge. DO NOT MISS IT more

We visited the Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge the same day we went to the Giant's Causeway. We enjoyed the unique experience of the rope bridge. It was a little windy and we had to wait a bit to cross back over to the shore, because of that. For a small admission fee, you get a great experience, a little fear, and... more

Well worth a visit and I didn't begrudge the national trust £4 to maintain this place. Bit of a hike from the admission gate to the actual bridge ,so not for the frail or those with mobility issues, but the views along the way make up for that. There will be queing both ways on the bridge so be prepared... more

When visiting Northern Ireland, this is very much a must do, along with the neighbouring Giant's Causeway. There are spectacular views but mobility is restricted due to the amount of steps leading up and down along the rocky path the rope bridge and indeed the fact it is a rope bridge. The views however are spectacular and well worth the... more

Although this a natural, outdoor site, you have to pay £4 for admission! As it has been written by several fellow travellers, there is a long and uneven walk to get to the actual bridge (not for elderly people or anyone with walking difficulties). The bridge itself is tiny and you cross it in 1 minute. There are of course... more
