This is a must see in Derry, you get to learn a lot about the trouble times in the city. The musuem is well done and give you a good insight of what happened in Derry. more

When in Derry you must visit this museum.A very emotional and thought provoking insight into the 'troubles'. I suggest at least an hour or two in this museum. more

I visited the Museum of Free Derry and took their walking tour of Derry. The tour was great, not too much walking involved. We stopped at all the murals and were given the history of the political troubles in Derry, including of course Bloody Sunday. I learned a lot and was able to take pictures up close. From the time you enter the museum until the time you leave your guide, your knowledge of the area and it's history will be intensified tenfold. We went here to pick up the political walking tour which was an incredible reflection on what happened in Derry during "the Troubles". I'd followed the reports for years but after hearing our guide I realized I had no idea what it must have been like. Within easy reach from the city centre - by foot. Not much known but well worth visiting. It tells the story of Bloody Sunday, 1972, when British soldiers shot dead many people. The displays are excellent, including uniforms, posters and hate mail sent to the victims' families post 1972. All in all, this was a little gem. more
