Well worth seeing, very interesting. Tip - book ahead to avoid disappointment. As it is a small castle with only one entrance, numbers are limited for each tour. We were lucky as some people who booked had not turned up!! More

Craigievar is a real gem of a castle. Smaller than many but perfectly proportioned...it's almost "cozy". The various rooms are a treat...and the lovely plaster work ceilings are a treat. Little by way of gardens but you can walk in the grounds. It's the neat scale and proportions of this castle that makes it a favourite for me. More

the gardens and castle are worth a visit. Built in 1600's it looks like it is built of icing sugar. Thebluebells can be lovely in the woodland around it http://www.nts.org.uk/Property/Craigievar-Castle/ More

Great little castle with lovely grounds and great views over surrounding countryside, like something out of a fairytale. Easter egg hunt was great fun last year and the ghost stories kept the kids enthralled in the castle. More

One of my favorites in the Highlands! When you step into the castle door you get the feeling you are walking back in time. Craigievar is done up so nicely that you feel like you could sit down & have a meal! The staff there are wonderful & knowledgable & the grounds are stunning! It is a beautiful gem tucked... More

We had my husband’s cousin for a weekend coming to us all the way from London. I mentioned it to her that there are some lovely Castles around Aberdeen area that she might want to visit. Seduced by description on the web of a “family friendly fairytale castle” we have chosen Craigievar Castle. Traveling about an hour away from Aberdeen,... More
