Great place to take the dog, just by the airport, good place to wander round if early for a flight, but don't get lost, it's a lot bigger than you realise when you get there. Lots of sculptures to see on your walk, information posts a bit scarce but a well hidden secret worth a visit. More

We'd visited before, a few years ago, and found some of the art installations/sculptures a bit run down this time. We enjoyed our walk but, having taken a wrong turning, went much further than we'd intended - maybe the signposting needs to be a bit clearer More

Kirkhill forest is a great day out. If you know where to look there is a standing stone circle just outside the wood in a field overlooking the airport. Best to get to it from the industrial estate side or the east side carpark and turn past Bogenjoss cottage then right where the forest ends up farm track and in... More

These woods provide excellent walking and MTB routes and are situated just a couple of hundred yards apart across the A96 main dual carriageway running north-east of and only a few miles out of Aberdeen. Tyrebagger to the south of the dual carriageway is a starting point for the Aberdeen Four Hills walk which takes you over Elrick Hill and... More

The woods of Kirkhill and Tyrebagger are easily accesible, situated either side of the dual carriageway. Just a few hundred yards in are the first car parks, which are well looked after by Forest Enterprise. Even this close to the main road, you can't hear or see the cars. They are very peaceful, well managed woods, and it is a... More
