This is well worth a visit if you are in Aberdeen. Entry is free. The various rooms are furnished in the style of different periods In the history of the house. The painted room is an amazing survival given the history of the house including a period when the house was in danger of demolition as part of a slum... More

Loved it, but whoever allowed the modern monstrosity next to it needs some lesson in town planning. It could also benefit from better signage as to where the entrance is More

Quite interesting....one of the oldest buildings in Aberdeen, which carries a lot of history within its walls. Each room inside has an exhibit of how nobles lived in the 16th and 17th century, starting from the Georgian Dining Room, to the Great Fall, to the Parlour, to Bedrooms, and even a Nursing Room!!! Each equipped with the furniture of the... More

Charming building surrounded by 'modern' concrete monstrosities! Upper floors not accessible to those with restricted mobility due to historic spiral staircases. Visited on winter afternoon and took a while to adjust to the dim lighting in some rooms. Exhibition of dresses was excellent. Didn't visit coffee shop on this occasion, but have previously enjoyed their cake & scones. More

My friend and I met up at Provost Skene's House for lunch. The new manager has revamped the place with plush 'new chairs' , table cloths and fresh flowers. I complimented him on the new look, and remarked that it had made the restaurant much more welcoming. It is obviously very popular with the grey and baby boomer consumers, and... More
