Not a great castle by any means, don't understand why it has been awarded 4 stars as a visitor attraction. Orientation room is poor (or else the castle has very little interesting history). Takes about 20mins to have a look round - I usually enjoy ruins but this one is really not worth visiting. There is also an enterance fee... more

Dunstaffnage Castle was great. Not too well preserved but enough to get your imagination going. Good display of history and background before entering the castle itself, there is also a chapel in the woods. Pathway to a lovely cobbled beach behind the castle as well. more

This castle is in great condition but not too polished. It's located on a dramatic point. Worth a peek inside. Parking is easy. more
