the house where the national poet finished his years has been well upgraded and kept to orginal,complete with decor and artifacts,it sits at the st micheals end of dumfries close to the church and the graveyard and musaleum,the statue to jean armour is also close by as is his favorite hoffe the globe,the burns centre is across the river nith...

Great place - but please note the mpa location on this website is wrong - it is situated in dumfries, NOT Garlieston (which is about 60 miles away!)

We discovered the cinema in the Burns Centre many years back and return time and time again.....just the right size, always pleasant and friendly staff and shows excellent range of movies all year round. The exhibition on Burns as well is something to check out. and what a location by the river!
