Our guide was Donald and he is AWESOME. He is so incredibly passionate about what he does that there is never a dull moment. He is full of knowledge and he made Scotland's history fun. Because this tour is based on tips, people should really take into consideration the passion and work that goes into making these tours possible and... More

Took the tour today with Donald. He is extremely knowledgable with local history, funny, kind, helpful and an all around great guide. Bus holds 20 something so this tour seems more personal than the BIG bus tours. You simply tip what you think the tour is worth which is a genius business plan. He took us to so many beautiful... Donald is co-owner of the Hairy Coo tour company, and was our guide. He put in a really long day, speaking almost non-stop from 8:30 to 6:15. Really deep knowledge of Scottish history, we really appreciated his light-hearted yet detailed conversation. Made us all feel welcome. Clearly he loves the coos (in fact, is on a first-name basis with them).... More

Great day in the highlands. Plenty of opportunity to look about, met new friends Hamish and Fiona and offspring ( the hairy coos). Our guide Donald makes it an enjoyable day with lots of local history delivered in an Interesting and humorous way. None of that dry dreary fact on fact stuff. He is a passionate Scotsman. Would recommend this... More

I just went on the free hairy coo tour a couple days ago and absolutely loved it! It was perfect- our guide Russell knew so many facts and so much history, the bus was comfortable and a great size, you could tip however much you wanted at the end, we went to such beautiful places, and most importantly, we were... In general, I am not a "tour person" because the groups are often too large, the commentary can be dry, and you feel as if you are being herded from one tourist trap to another. The Hairy Coo tour tries to avoid these problems. The bus is small and holds about 20 people. There is no restroom on board, but... More

Hiya azogal, Thank you for posting such a descriptive and charming review of your Hairy Coo tour. We really love your photos especially the one of those "dangerously cute" hairy coos. As you say, we do try to get away from the familiar tourist routes to bring Scotland to life and it is really good to hear that you enjoyed... More

The tour was nothing like I had expected. Honestly, I though, like every other tour guide out there, the guide would be boring, but he was just the opposite! He was casual and friendly and told great stories that gave an added depth to the breathtaking scenes and captivated the whole bus, tales of Scotland's rich history. The places we... More

Loved the hairy coo highland tour. Donald was an excellent tour guide! A highland was feeding a hairy coo. Definitely join a hairy coo tour if you want a unique Scottish tour.
