Great Fun!

We had a great time here! We had been before but they have introduced a new tour which is a whole lot better - a lot more informative and fun. Loved the barrel ride and the guided tasting. more

We upgraded to the gold tour and are very glad we did. It works out at almost £20 a head but it gives you the standard tour with one free malt tincher and then an exta tasting tray of of four other single malt selections from teh Lowlands, Highlands, Speyside and the Islays. Very enjoyable. The upgrade also make you... more

After a full day of exploring the Edinburgh castle, we'd had enough history and decided to check out the whisky tour just down High Street. At 11 GBP for the Silver Tour, we thought the price was a bit steep but overall I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys whisky. The first part of the tour takes you through... more

The tour begins with a short ride in electric 'whiskey barrel' carts through the process of making/distilling whiskey. Then you join 20-ppl in a tasting room to learn about where whiskey is distilled in Scotland and the different tastes whiskey has. You go through a smell test and then determine which whiskey you want to sample. Then you go into... more

Visited the whisky experience whilst in Edinburgh over the week-end - My husband sampled the whiskies at the tasting bar - the young waiter there was very knowledgeable very friendly and very helpful - he must be an excellent salesman as he managed to sell my husband a shot of whisky at £22.50 a throw !!!! - I just had... more

The Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre was a great addition to our day, we strolled down after visiting the Castle and managed to get on the midday tour, we chose the gold tour as you get an extra tasting at the end for an extra couple of pounds. You start the tour on a Disney style ride, where you learn the... more

A nice way to spend a rainy moment, that´s what we did. The tour is very well planned. First you take a ride in a whisky barrel and learn a bit about how whisky is made. Then you learn more about the whisky regions from a guide and of course get to taste a little whisky. At last you get... more

We went into this expecting a tour that was a bit cheesy and hokey, and while it was an interesting tour (with a ride), it doesn't come close to a tour of an actual working distillery. It's tremendously popular, being about a minute from Edinburgh Castle, and very crowded. The "tour" is really a ride in the whisky-barrel through a... more

I was lucky enough to visit before the official opening of the new Whisky vault and I was ver impressed. It might not sound so amazing to see so many whiskys displayed in that room, especially if you're not a whisky officanado (as I am not) but it was a great way to end the tour. I think the barrel... more

We visited during our Easter Holidays with friends staying in the city and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the new tour. I believe that it has just opened with a new barrel ride (nothing like the old one we went on years ago) and it is topped off with a single malt tasting in the world's largest whisky collection - (my... more
