Easy to find and a great wet weather option. At first the idea of doing the first part of the tour in barrels seemed a bit twee but was good fun in the end. Seems to be very good in offering the tour to a number of different languages. The guide we had were very informative and brings the favourite... More

I have to say that we learned a lot about how to determine the characteristics of whisky in this tour. It is a bit pricey but if you don't have the opportunity to go to a genuine whisky distillery, this is a great option. It's unique to the royal mile and, as I said, very informative. Our guide (Garry) was... More

For those that are new to Scotch Whisky or are unfamiliar with the process it is made, the tour is very good. The great thing about this tour is that you get a sample of Scotch at the end and a Glen Cairn whisky glass that can cost anywhere from 5 to 8 pounds out on the Royal Mile. At... More

Ok, so I like my Whisky, but it's a great place to learn about Whisky, and has a really good shop for you to look round and purchase a bottle if you desire. Can really recommend the restaurant, the food was superb More

Thanks so much for your kind review. Really pleased you liked our brand new Whisky shop which we recently refurbished following a £1 million investment - it's great to see reviews coming through mentioning the shop! I will also pass on your comments to my colleagues in Amber Restaurant. More

Fun introduction to whisky. First part is a "ghost train" style ride through a tour of the whisky making process presented by the ghost of a distillary manager from long ago... Second part is a whisky tasting. You get a talk on the different whisky regions of Scotland and what things to expect when tasting whisky from each region. Yuo... More

Thank you for your review. I'm really pleased you enjoyed the barrel ride through the production of Scotch Whisky led by our distillery manager, Douglas McIntyre. We do feel that the Gold tour option with the tasting tray of 4 different regional Whiskies in the bar at the end of the tour is indeed value for money, so thanks again... More

An introduction to how whiskey is being made with tasting of one type of whiskey ( bought the Silver tour) but quite good prices if you wanted to taste more later. Quite impressive collection of whiskey bottles, largest collection in the world, as well as worlds more expensive whisky, priced at 120.000 pounds (blended whiskey from Johnny Walker). Definetely worth... More

Good collection of whisky. They would tell you how whisky is made & what are different kinds of scotch whiskies. And would let you try one of the scotch whisky you choose. They give the whisky glass as a gift. I really liked the speyside. It's just next to the edinburgh castle. More

We hit this on a rainy Monday and found it very interesting. I've been on dozens of brewery tours but no distillery tours before. Doing this on Monday made a Tuesday distillery tour more enjoyable. You learn a little about how to do a proper tasting of a liquor, then have a fantastic store selction to choose from. We did... More
