Fabulous little find!! Interesting and informative and well worth the 25min bus ride (really easy to get there from princes street). Wonderful welcome from Margeretann who showed us around the caves! She was very knowledgable and clearly passionate about the place!! Would recommend this to anyone going to Edinburgh!!

The Cove is slightly harder to find than we thought but it's a great little gem 20 minute bus ride outside the centre of Edinburgh. No one knows who made the cove or what it was used for - a really mystery to solve!

This is a 15 minutes taxi ride from edinburgh, but probably worth the trip. The staff are certainly all very enthusiastic.

If in Edinburgh you must visit the cove, lots of history and a great way to spend a few hours, so if you have some spare time, you know where to go.

Me and my boyfriend went on a tour in the Gilmerton cove. It was really amazing to see the quite unknown paths and chambers. The guide, Alex, was really sweet and enthousiastic and told us every little detail about the onderground mystery. The fact that it's still a mystery what exactly happened in the chambers, makes it even more amazing... More

This place is a bus ride away from the city, it takes about 25 minutes to get there from Princes Street. When I e-mailed to book places I was sent very good directions with the local landmarks to look out for so I would know where to get off the bus. If you have google maps on your phone it... More

If you like strange and unusual attractions a little off the beaten track, then you should definitely try to visit Gilmerton Cove when in Edinburgh. The Cove is a collection of underground rooms and passageways carved into the solid sandstone rock under the streets of Gilmerston. They are hundreds of years old, with some strange and detailed features, but the... More

Having looked on Tripadvisor for attractions thought we would visit the Cove. Make sure you pre book. We got a taxi to the Cove from Princess Street which cost us £15.00, however, the taxi was unsure of the location, the tour guide said this was quite common as they had not been open for very long. We got the number... More

This visit was fun and very informative. A hidden gem in Edinburgh and I live there. We took three children who also enjoyed it. Excellent guide. This lady made it fun, the reason I think our grandchildren will remember their visit there for years to come. Well done.

We went here on our way back home. You need to pre book as we didn't and had to wait 2 hrs for the next appt...however is was well worth it. The whole experience is breathtaking. I would say it was one of the best places to invite in Edinburgh. A most!
