Feeling a bit ripped off really, we did the 10pm tour and really had looked forward to it, Ewan was the guide, funny guy, friendly, but we had gone along for scary! Couldn't understand why we met at a lovely old church only to be moved round a corner to queue while we all either paid or handed prepaid tickets... More

We went on the ghost and torture tour, Sunday evening, at 6pm. We had emailed to book this prior to our visit. We were definitely not disappointed. Ewan our guide was really good. He really knew what he was talking about with history of the vaults, and the stories. I would recommend this to anyone thinking of going on it.... More

Took this tour in May with Darren as our guide, it was a small group so really easy to hear and see everything. Took us in the underground city in a few of the vaults, was very very spooky but not too scary. Darren was very Knowledgeable and told tales of what had happened in the vaults. Would recommend this... More

I went on the Terror Tour and was not disappointed. The tour is a great way to learn about the gritty history of Edinburgh! You get to go into the underground vaults -- very eerie, very cool. Our tour guide, Erin, was absolutely fabulous, and dealt with one belligerently drunk gentleman with finesse. Would recommend!

I was there in the group on a tour on the vaults. Our guide was called Ewan. We paid ten UK pounds which was great value cos this guy would sell out stadiums doing stand up. The guy was great. I have travelled Europe and been on many tours this was by far the best. What a mix, great location.... More

I booked this when a friend was visiting and chose it purely for the buy one get one free offer! I wished I had read some tripadvisor reviews first - I probably wouldn't have booked it otherwise as there are some very valid points here and this was my friend's one chance to do a tour. Although our tour guide,... More

My son, his fiancée, and I did the 10pm Terror Tour on the 13th April, and Ewan was our guide. Ewan was brilliant, and obviously knows his history. He took us to different points which were significant with the tour, and he brought a good amount of humour with the group to make it enjoyable. Most of the group were... More

Had a terror tour on 29th March. Found it highly enjoyable, start off with a walk around various points of interest around Royal Mile and then into the vaults to briefly look at instruments of torture that poor local folk had to endure for various misdemeanours, ranging from the classic chastity belt to a full face mask used to pour... We went on the Terror Tour with Peter as our guide. Lovely gentleman, knows a lot about the history of his city and country and you can genuinely feel that he loves them both as well as his job! First we went on a tour overground, through the Royal Mile where we heard about Edinburgh real dark past! Then, to... More
